Thank you for your question.

The barcode of a product does not identify the origin of a product, but only the localization of the licensing of the product code system (please compare the GS1 General Specification chapter 2.1.2.1.1.: „The GS1 Company Prefix is allocated by a GS1 Member Organisation to a system user. It makes the ID number unique worldwide but does not identify the origin of the item.”). As we had licensed to the US-UPC system (Universal Product Code), our products show a number starting with 061. The reason for us was to be able to create barcodes which are readable all over the world.

一个产品的条形码并不能标识一个产品的原产地，而只是显示这个产品的条形码系统的注册地（请参看《GS1通用规范》第2.1.2.1.1.款中的内容:GS1条形码的公司前缀码是由一个GS1会员组织分配给一个系统用户的。它能够形成全球独一无二的ID号码，但是它并不能标识该项目的原产地。”）。由于我们已经注册的是美国的UPC条形码系统（通用产品代码），我们的产品就以061开头。我们这样做的原因是为了能够使用在全世界都可以读识的条形码。

Our company is located in Germany, and all salt products are produced here at our factory in Germany.

The barcodes of all our products including the sea salts are a combination of the following scheme:
“0” + “619106” (= UPC Manufacturer ID number) + “12345” (= 5-digit-article-number) + X (= check digit which is calculated by the preceeding numbers)
For example, PRO-REEF 4 kg box has the barcode: 0619106105245, where 10524 is the article number.
包括海盐在内的所有我们的产品的条形码都是按照下面的方式构成的：
“0” + “619106” (= UPC的制造商ID号码) + “12345” (= 5位数的货品编码) + X (= 由前面的数字计算出的校验码)

比如，PRO-REEF 4 kg 盒装这个产品的条码是：0619106105245，这里的10524就是货品编码。
